Things to do in Hurricane Utah

In this article we will cover a few of the many things you can do and places to visit in our town for a tourist and even for us locals who have yet to discover our own backyard.  

This cute little town is nothing to sneeze at. Asked on Quora - What are some American neighborhoods that everyone will love? Traveler Mrs. Perez mentions our city of Hurricane saying, One of the most quaint and adorable towns I’ve ever seen.” Take her word for it!

Adventures in Hurricane Utah

So what is there to do in Hurricane, Utah anyway? Well, a surprisingly whole lot in our wonderful Southern Utah! And if Hurricane Utah attractions are not your jam, we have other nearby events besides just local adventures. 

A quick search on Google and you will get a few ideas including cheap or free options.  Don't forget about Groupon for things to do in Hurricane Utah.

Reserve A Campsite

Camping in Hurricane UT is the ultimate Utah family experience at Sand Hollow State Park (utah.com).  Follow the link to find vacation rental options among other guides.

Golfing, Live Theater, Sand Dunes

Whether it be going to golf courses or live theater, there are many options for things to do Hurricane Utah as day trips just along the city limits and can include sand dunes and water sports in the warm water.   Go to Sand Hollow State Park even in the winter to climb red rocks.  Sand Hollow is 15 minutes away if you like cliff jumping, swimming, boating, and OHV(off-roading tours). 

Tubing, Kayaking, and Paddle Boarding

We recommend a family-friendly area like Sand Hollow State Park which has tubing in the water. Or try Quail Creek State Park, also in Southern Utah, which has paddle boarding or kayaking on the lake with Dig Paddle Sports.

Hurricane Rim Trail

Covers a single track of around 7.5 miles.  Whether you are a seasoned hiker, or you are into mountain biking, the Hurricane Rim Trail is where you will find the best spot to satisfy your adventure needs. (triphobo.com)

Hurricane Utah Restaurants

After an adventurous hike in Zion National Park, consider enjoying eating at any of the Restaurants in Hurricane Utah. Places to eat in Southern Utah can be limited on Sundays, but we are open. 

We are biased though and would like to invite you and your family to stop by our place during your drive through Hurricane Utah - here is the Rooster Run Cafe menu. We have made quite the progress since our grand opening of our restaurant in February 2020.

We have heard good things about this town on the way to Zion National Park, including a petting zoo of all things recommended by Aubrie on her blog.

Mystic Hot Springs

Want to soak in a bathtub? Yes, this is a thing.  It is outdoor hot spring water goodness.  Reservation only!  Even better is Pah Tempe Hot Springs, but it is no longer open to the public.

Zion National Park

Our restaurant in Hurricane is known for being close to the entrance of Zion National Park which makes our little town a great place to stay.  Catch a shuttle for a hike or drive through different parts of the park depending on how much you want to walk. Best Friends Animal Sanctuary

Visit Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab Utah, the ultimate animal sanctuary with over 1,600 animals of all kinds. Volunteer on your own time or visit with your family for a day full of fun.

The Beach at Sand Hollow

Their website is: https://thebeachatsandhollow.com They offer UTV guided Tours, Captained Boat Rentals, Boat rentals, PWC’s, and paddle sports. They have a newly updated outdoor patio area that is ideal for hosting the events as well as private events such as family reunions, bachelor/bachelorette parties, birthday parties, employee appreciation events, etc.

The patio area features 14 booths that can comfortably accommodate between 56-84 people, as well as 6 tables in the center aisle which can comfortably accommodate up to 36 adults. There is a stage area with a fully functional projector and speaker system that can be used for meetings, presentations, karaoke, and more! Just outside of the patio they have three fire pits that are each sectioned off with 10 chairs for your group to gather around and make smores and enjoy the evenings.
